Have you checked out G's company, I don't know if there is anything there you do/can do, but they are a good place to work. They do care about their employees, Good health insurance(BCBS), pre-IPO, and as much as he whines about the workload, he likes the place and the people. The commute might suck, (they moved and are exit 1 on Rt.3 now) but you have done worse.
