(Eastern MA) For my female friends and parents with female-type children
http://web.mit.edu/museum/programs/calendar/Girls-Day.html
The MIT Museum is having a program this Saturday (Nov 7th) focused for girls. There's a segment specifically for registered Girl Scouts and then five hours of open presentations. Every presenter is a female scientist of one sort or another.
I realize that most of my readers don't think there's anything odd or unusual about female-identified scientists but I suspect we know a few people who might still hold such notions and maybe those peoples' children would enjoy a day of hands-on at the Museum, too.
Just a thought.
