As I said elsewhere, Trump has surrounded himself with military combat commanders. I have some level of trust in them both to know how to use weaponry and to have a deep distaste for quagmires. Honestly, if he'd put people of equal level of experience and competence in charge of Education and State and EPA and so on I'd find myself less deeply worried.
I also do not think that Bannon's departure from the NSC was coincidental with this timing. I expect in years to come we'll learn there was some kind of quid pro quo: Get the amateur out of the room and we'll make this happen.
I just wish the strike had been more effective. I think we can remove weaponry from the conflict, to a limited extent, and should do so.
