Reason #1 why I own a Droid

Apple continues to try to make its boxes (iPhone included) as locked-down as possible, even if it means treating developers like serfs. Feh.

It should NOT take an FOI request by a party like NASA to produce this document. What this means is that Apple KNEW there was crap in this license agreement that wouldn't fly well with the public or their image. I am thoroughly disappointed in Apple.

i'd love to have a droid. unfortunately, every cell phone provider now requires you to have a data package if you have a smart phone *even if* you never intend to use it. so my costs would go from $50/mo. to $80/mo. color me poor -- and unimpressed.

That's my situation as well, except that mine is a $20/month T-mobile plan (I'm grandfathered in). I have a not-quite-smart phone (Motorola ZN5) that has a browser and WIFI, FM radio, plus a great camera.
