Tell me something I don't know

I was reminded yet again over Thanksgiving that I don't know nearly as much about my friends as I tend to think I do. So this is an open invite to write something about yourself that you don't think I know.

If you choose to, you can write anonymously and I've set it to screen anonymous comments so please tell me if you want yours un-screened.

You might know this or not, but I am completely intimidated by your intellect.

It is probably from having children. The devour you mind, body, and soul.
The sound of your essence leaving your body is "Awwwwww!"

You might enjoy Ben Marcus' dystopian sci-fi novel The Flame Alphabet when it is published in mid-January about an epidemic in which children's speech becomes toxic to their parents. This comment does not need to be anonymous.

I was engaged to be married, once. Right out of high school...the plan was for me to finish college and a graduate degree before getting married, but I was sure it would be him.

I'm so grateful that failed and I found polyamory.

Similar to the comment at 3:58 pm - while I was waiting for my divorce to be finalized in '02, and while I was dating someone else, with discussions of open relationships, but never an agreement to be in one, I met someone I thought was the perfect partner for me - we were both going through our divorces, and we were really hot for each other.

It did not work out, though we'd even gone so far as to discuss getting married again.
The sex we had, however, right before I deployed to Iraq, was wonderful!

I originally wanted to be a cardiovascular surgeon. Solid plan for a good 10 years of my life, until IB Chemistry came along.

Wow. That's scary-competitive. I was in a college-level Chemistry 101 class, and that was enough to kill my dreams... I'm not very good at the sciences, no matter how they interest me.

I ran a half marathon once, and when I was at the top of my game, climbed 5.11 routes.

In college, I once thought I would major in chemistry.
