Mostly logging this for future reference.

I started feeling better Friday, even as I was going to the doc. I've been weak but clearly mending all weekend. Sunday I talked with the doc: all the tests came out negative. No red or white blood cells in the stool, no c-diff present, no diverticulitis, liver function normal.

She sort of shrugged (as best I could hear it over the phone) and said my first guess was likely right - some kind of non-specific viral gastroenteritis. Probably not a norovirus, given that I could keep food down.

In English: I had a stomach bug. I was right to stay away from people. I'm now clear and should recover fine.

I need to give special props to this doc. She gave me a specific number to use to reach her on Sunday AM when she knew she's be in an Urgent Care rotation. When I called she was in with patients and they took a number to call me. The end of her specified time window passed with no call and I assumed she'd just been very busy and gone home after shift without having time to review my test results.

Then she called - a different number than the one I'd left - a couple hours later. It turns out the person who took my initial call wrote down the number wrong. So the doc had gone back to my file and found a different number on her own time & initiative so she could call me to give me the results. Very nice.
