Boston.com published an interesting photo essay on the observance of Earth Hour around the world.

The first photos are static. Starting from the second one down you can click on the photo to fade between a "normal" shot and a dimmed one as various lights were taken down in level or turned off.

Seeing the fade requires you to have JS turned on in your browser.
