The weekend more or less started Thursday night when Shaz and I went to see Milk. The movie was very good, and I understand why it got so many awards. Given that it's a biopic and you know what happens at the end it still managed to be very optimistic and uplifting. My understanding is that this is how Harvey Milk lived and in that sense it's true to him. I was a teenager during the time of the events portrayed in the film, and I remember a lot of it from the outside.

Friday, Pygment and I took off from work so we could see Coraline. In 3D. It was a good movie, not great. I thought the use of 3D was reasonable, but probably not necessary. My guess is that people who see the conventional screen version aren't going to miss a whole lot. The movie was a pretty standard fairy tale, done well. Definitely not for small kids, though.

Saturday and Sunday were mostly full of people at my house, which makes me happy but tired. By the time we cleaned up Saturday night I'd used up all my energy, particularly for social things. I know I missed out on some events I'd wanted to attend, but I needed the rest.

Today we're getting an enforced at-home day due to ZOMGIT'SSTILLWINTERHAHAHAYOUFROZENFOOLS. I should go out and shovel. But it beats being forced to slog into an office in crappy visibility.
