Ayria opened for VNV Nation on Friday. The show had been advertised as starting at 7:30 but either these guys went on before that or they only played about 5 songs. We arrived around 7:40 and their 'set' was effectively over. So, checking them out online. They're not exceptional, but a decent amount of energy. What you don't really hear in this track is their drummer, whom I thought was the best of the trio.

More dark stuff. I'm not entirely sure why I continue to listen to the dark male vocal stuff. Mostly it sucks, with a few notable exceptions like She Wants Revenge. I think partly I'm searching for the next Andrew Eldritch - he's out there somewhere. I don't think Paul Banks is it, but he's got potential.

Just in case you thought I'd stopped listening to weird-ass mash-ups, trust me I haven't. I just haven't found any worth blogging in a while. This one gets a mention partly because it picks up some really fun tracks, beginning with the two core tracks of "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor" and "Thunder." I think AC/DC has done a lot of good mash-worthy stuff, but the few I've come across have mostly been wastes. I like this one, even if it is a bit repetitive.
