Today's "music" - visual train wrecks
Jul. 23rd, 2009 09:22 am
Today's selection starts with two videos off Mashuptown that need to be seen to be believed. http://mashuptown.com/
The first is a trainwreck mix riffing off of Kanye West's Love Lockdown (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2M9YHATH2Q). This is another track that's all over the remixes and most of them aren't worth noting. This one... well, you really need both to watch and listen. When DJ Cougar pulls in the second track I was sort of WTF but by the time he goes back to Kanye I can see what he's doing.
OK, now scroll down to "GHP has gone Bananas" and press Play. Go Home Productions has a vid that is not only a catchy mash-up of... OK, I'm not going to spoil it. Just be sure you're watching while it plays. I predict you're either going to be laughing out loud or twitching. Or maybe both.
If you've survive this far you deserve a reward, so let's go back to a favorite of mine, the French singer La Roux. I still haven't heard anything as good as Skream's remix of her "In for the Kill" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mq5GdutCRo8) but her other tracks are getting some treatment as well:
