Lots of open tabs to close. No single theme here, but a lot of different styles of what gets loosely called "dance" or "dance hall" or "electro dance" music. All of which goes to prove how useless most such labels are...
http://rcrdlbl.com/artists/The_Crystal_Method/track/Come_Back_Clean_feat_Emily_Haines_Kaskade_Radio_Edit_Possibly there are people reading this who haven't heard The Crystal Method before, in which case this isn't the best intro to their music. It's dance/house, but very approachable and with more conventional song structures than a lot of DJ tracks. They've had a lot of commercial success, possibly related to the accessibility of their style but I don't hold that against them. They're a couple of guys having fun making music they like and along the way they've done a good deal to make dancefloor-style music known to a wider audience. The two tracks here are clearly cut and edited for radio play, but still reflect a lot of Crystal Method stylings and sample choices.
http://rcrdlbl.com/artists/Andrew_Weatherall/track/Walk_Of_ShameAndrew Weatherall is also in the "accessible dancefloor" category, though he's much more Europop/Depeche Mode and less trippy, at least in this track. If you wander over to his music site (
http://twoloneswordsmen.com/music.html) you'll get a wider variety of styles; most seem to be the kind of harder edge male dance stuff I tend to expect to hear in gay bars.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04qBppj_z8wUnderhall - Digithall (Bestrack Remix). I can't find anything on these guys other than that they're French and they seem to pose a lot in leather, often with chainsaws and other power equipment. NMK, but I like their sense of beats.

Steve Nalepa (
http://www.myspace.com/nalepa) is a synth-only DJ act from LA. His stuff is not bad, but nothing I'd write home about on its own. However, what we have here is a remix done by The Glitch Mob (
http://theglitchmob.com/) who are a two (or maybe three, I can't be sure) remix team that have appeared in some big-name places like Lollapalooza. They take the original "Monday" track and turn it into a steaming hot danceable track by overlaying some beats, some vocal samples, and strong bass dubstep. You really should listen to this one; it's a winner.
