Any CSS gurus willing to lend a hand?

Having figured out the error of the first part I'm now being baffled again why code that works fine on the test page fails in production. Firebug isn't giving me any clues I can recognize - anyone willing to take a look and see if there's something obvious to be seen?

ETA: got it. As I suspected, the issue was an inherited style property. Once I nuke that I think the problem is resolved.
