Jon Lord (http://jonlord.org/) yesterday lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.
Lord was a founder of Deep Purple and wrote many of the band's iconic songs, including "Smoke on the Water," as well as playing keyboards and being possibly the best Hammond Organ player rock and roll ever saw.
