Yes, I'm late. Sorry.

I shot way more in the three days of Arisia than I've shot in a long time. Edited down, tossed out, and still ended up with 99 photos that weren't too embarrassing - to me or the subjects - to post. Several people have gotten preview copies of images of themselves and have said nice things. This makes me happy.

Shooting at a con is always a problem - it's a tight space with lots of people moving quickly. The hotel that Arisia was held in had a very nasty yellow cast to its lighting that didn't seem obvious to the naked eye but once I saw the color balance on the photos it was pretty glaring. Part of what took so long to get this set posted was trying to make sure it didn't look like every single one of my subjects was suffering from jaundice. Also, a significant lack of good clean backgrounds against which to shoot made for cluttered shots that took time to edit into viewable shape.

Woe is me, I must find more opportunities to have my fabulous friends pose for me. Woe!

The "good stuff" first, right? I've avoided using any names in association with these pictures as I'm not sure how any of the people in them want to be identified. Feel free to label yourself as you wish in the Picasa album.

The distinction between "people in costumes" and "friends" is pretty arbitrary in some cases. After all, half the fun of being at a con is having excuses to dress up and my friends sure do dress up nice! This set includes pictures where the point was more to show off the attire than the person. For names I tried to use the name of the costume where possible.

And finally some shots of people who are nice and tolerant of my pointing the camera at them, sometimes several times a day. A couple of folk even let me play around with odd angles, or shooting the same pose close up and from farther back.
