I haven't written an update because there's a good bit I want to write about but of course that pile keeps getting bigger. I'll try to write some of it soon, yeah.
I started work Monday at Lime Brokerage, LLC. The commute isn't bad - I'm learning the back-roads ways so I can avoid the Rt128 slog.
If you have not already done so, please erase any Charles River/CRD-related contact info for me. My work email is first-initial-last-name at limebrokerage dot com. Work phone is seven eight one four seven two three seven seven five.
For reasons somewhat related to being an actual live brokerage, IM to/from here is a little tricky. AIM seems to work; MSN might or might not. ICQ definitely does not. If you'd like to do real-time chat please use gchat.
We have some job openings, particularly for people with Java skills. We're also looking for a full-time QA person, and a Web designer. If you've got mad CSS + AJAX skills I'd definitely like to see a resume as well.
You can see some of the positions listed at http://limebrokerage.com/index.php?title=Come_Join_Us%21 (yes, the URL is glitched and has an extra character on the end - I've written to the person in charge to get that fixed) but that's not a complete list by any means.
The work at this point is the usual first week of paperwork, HR, and building a machine. The development here is done on Linux (Eclipse, GNOME). I'm one of the few Windows boxes. Once we get things set up properly it'll all be remote connections and virtual machines anyway...
