Illness update

drwexI've been sick since Tuesday eve. I'm still sick. Just back from the doc - it's probably a virus.
My sincere apologies to people whose events (one move, one party) I planned to attend tomorrow. I will probably miss those, and it's probably better if I do.
I've been having several days of diarrhea, starting from about 4:30AM on Wed morning. My sleep has been short and interrupted. Prior to Tuesday I was on penicillin (considering how sick the whole family was and that I had a sore throat + swollen glands this probably wasn't stupid). When the intestinal issues started I discontinued that but the problems haven't gotten better. It's all lower-GI. I can still eat and keep food down, but not much seems appetizing.
The doc agreed with stopping the antibiotic. I need to send in a bunch of stool samples (ICK) to test for various things, but she doesn't think it's c-diff or anything particularly serious. When this started I guessed it was some kind of rotavirus - I've had those before, but usually they taper off after 48 hours. Who knows. Blood work, of course. Might have some results by Sunday AM.
On the plus side I'm down to 194lbs, my lowest weight in almost a decade. Not the way I'd recommend getting here, though.
