It was sufficiently muggy this weekend for Pygment to make a comment about greasy air and that led me to the great gray-green greasy Limpopo and there was a disagreement about what river it was and since I have the Internet in my pants I simply looked it up and THAT led me to read the story to the family.

And that, dearly beloved, is how I found my totem animal.

He is wise in a certain way, and he helps when help is needed, and he dispenses advice in that way I often aspire to speak and he is able to see the 'vantages of situations.

Now I just need a new icon...

Okay, I'll bite

That was adorable! Thanks for pointing me in its direction.

A lot of the people I know talk like the bi-coloured rock python does. I don't know if that means that I'm living right or living wrong. Perhaps it just means I like bi-coloured rock pythons. :-)

unrelatedly, you might want to check out "music to make love to your old lady by", which is the coolest thing on my ipod lately. if nothing else, the remix of "sex (I'm a)" by berlin is fuck-all awesome.

Excellent.

I did grow up on "Just So Stories," and loved them.
(Now I need to get my Rudyard Kipling out of a box to read to the kiddo).

my Dad read these to me, he had them almost memorised. They had been some of the first books he read in English, as they British taught classes using them, complete with pics of little Indians, which to the mainly Arab/Jewish audience in Palestine was a little odd
