Doc Watson, the legendary blind mountain guitarist, died at 89.
Hearing his music played on the radio this AM brought back childhood memories. I grew up in a 'folkie' household and his brand of folk music inspired a lot of people in folk, rock, and bluegrass/country in the early and mid-60s. I've never been a big fan of mountain music, but I loved his kids songs - they were always so fun, bouncy, and energetic.
