Oh what a tangled web we weave

Shakespeare has got to be laughing his ass off, somewhere, right about now.
The amount of WRONG here is just truly epic, starting with the small-scale wrong of men who can't keep their dicks in their pants (*) and going all the way up to the large social wrong of the culture we've built that idolizes military leaders at the expense of being realistic about who they are and what they've done. How one scandal manages to entangle so many personal, social, and political layers of upgefuktness will be fodder for writers and analysts for years to come.
(*) I'm conflicted about the degree of responsibility here. Certainly it seems that at least one woman was complicit in carrying out an affair and thus not blameless. And it also seems likely that at least one other woman involved in this mess is nucking futs and probably a major liar, too.
