A good, if brief, summary.

His influence was always felt around MIT even long after he'd left. His company generously donated equipment and money to furnish labs and help out projects; many grads went to work for Bose. He was also a staunch believer in the value of keeping a company private, even during boom (bubble) times when he could have made a lot more money on the public markets.

I had a brief contract at Bose back in the aughts. I passed Dr. Bose once, in the halls. You could tell it was him because he was ambling along in comfy sweats, idly giving out instructions, while being followed by two extremely deferential men in very nice suits-n-ties.
