Writing in Slate, Lisa Wade summarizes some of the most recent research on the sexual activity of college students. The popular image is of college kids getting drunk and having lots of sex, but diving into the data shows a much more complex picture. Here's the punchline
Wade also addresses the lingering racist stereotype of Blacks as being hypersexualized, noting that, in general, "African-American students are less likely to hook up than white students." The reasons for that are also interesting and complex and the Slate article is at best a skim.
