Considering the amazing writing that Benioff has accomplished elsewhere, both in screenplays and straight fiction, I'm going to give him all the slack ever. Then again, I might be somewhat of a fangirl and am totally biased.
(yes, I've actually read as much of his other stuff as I can find, even to the point of special requests of interlibrary loans)
