More signal-boosting for friends-of-friends:
Registering to be a potential bone-marrow donor no longer requires a blood draw. It can be done by a swab of a few cells from inside your cheek. Most insurance covers the costs of a registry visit and test - it's definitely covered in MA.
If you're able and MA-local, there's a donor registry drive on Saturday June 2 from 11-3 at the Batchelder Elementary School, 175 Park Street, North Reading MA (Rt. 62 and Haverhill St). Contact Christine Mancini at (978) 664-7814x1125 or (800) 676-4545x19. You must be 18-60 yrs old (16-17 with parent consent).
If you are not MA-local, you can get more information from the national registry site at http://www.marrow.org/DONOR/FAQs/Donor_FAQs/index.html
