The fight for diverse and conscious voices

It's not an either/or. It's on me, so if I see a friend behaving in a wrong way toward another friend, I should say something. It's on me, so if I read about the LAPD losing rape kits, I need to call Jose Huizar and tell him to hold the police accountable and let him know that it matters to his constituents. But it's ALSO on the cop to, say, refresh her knowledge on sexual assault and the handling of such. And the more we individually are aware and active, the more individuals will apply pressure to those systemic issues to get them to change.
