I do not think of the original as troubling, provided you don't get upset at violent fistfight scenes. You might want to rent it so you have a pause button just in case. There are, I think, five versions of the original. Of those I highly recommend the "director's cut" version or the "definitive edition" version, both of which are quite similar.
