Interesting news from chemistry research - there appears to be a way to separate molecules based on their chirality. I did not know until I read this that it was chirality that caused Thalidomide to have such deadly effects. I'd always heard it as a story about insufficient testing and part of the reason why FDA testing regimes are more rigorous than most other places.
