drwexWhen LJ gave us certificates to donate I picked a project called "Moving Past the Dead White Men: Culturally Diverse Books." (http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/proposal.html?id=109721) Props to srl and desiringsubject, among others, who keep this kind of topic fresh in my mind.
Email today indicates that the project has been fully funded. It's always a gamble to try and figure out what exposure to one or two books may mean to an impressionable high-schooler. But it surely seems worth the effort to try.
