One Laptop Per Child's buy-one-get-one offer has been extended to December 31, 2007. You pay $399 (plus $25 shipping) get a laptop for yourself and donate one. You get a $200 charitable donation credit. Also, T-Mobile is offering one year of complimentary HotSpot access for people who take this offer. I haven't investigated the details, yet.

Gah! So tempting! But I'm torn on whether I'm tempted because it'll be a good and fun tool for Evan or because I want one...

Yeah, it does. I might be able to justify the ding in the budget if it's useful for him. I can't if it's just "gee whiz!" for me. :) I suspect he'll be able to do a lot with a computer if it's reasonably child-oriented and less breakable than my laptop is. But... he's 2. Does he need to?
