Scene: the kids are upstairs nominally getting ready for bed but in fact are rumpusing around. There's a WHUMP and a whine from L. Shortly thereafter the whine stops. We wait. A bit after that he appears downstairs.

"Daaady!"
"Yes?"
"I was um... When I..." pause. Stare around. Take in big breath: "I'm a cheetah and I can go 60 miles per hour and when I was doing that I bumped my elbow on the frame of the bathroom door and it really hurt!"

At which point L has to admonish me that "It's not funny" because I'm laughing so hard I can't breathe. I reassure him that no, it's not funny and I'm sorry he bumped his elbow but BOY is he cute!


P.S. The posting title refers to the fact that I plan to blog far more of these episodes than I ever manage to remember.

Sort of, but mostly not. Saturday is L's birthday party for which we'll be in Chelmsford from mid-afternoon. Prior to that we might be around - depends on time.
