At the Burlington Mall they have installed a... raised portion of road. It's not your standard blob of asphalt speed bump. There are similar things in East Cambridge.

On the way out of the mall with Pygment, I spotted the sign for this thing. It said

Speed Hump

I'm quite sure they didn't mean it to be read that way. It's a noun, right, not a performative.

They're officially called "traffic tables" but yeah, "speed hump" is nice. There are signs that say "beware speed hump" and wonder what kind of a warning that really is......is it for the mallrat boys you might pick up?

The ones in Cambridge, if you're referring to what I think you are, are technically called "raised devices" by the city. A raised device sounds like something one might (speed) hump on.

I think they have those signs in NJ, too, because Tiger Boy has mentioned that they get stolen a lot. >:-)
