(or, an excuse for random links - take your pick).

First off, Pygment found another really awesome mash-up that I had missed in DJ Schmolli's site. This is "Mash Me Amadeus". This one really appealed both to my inner-80s kid and to my "dance in my seat" self.

My father forwarded me this link off the NY Times science site, in which John Tierney explains how the "Monty Hall Problem" is being used to explain a flaw in a whole class of psychological experiments. Having just seen 21, which used this problem I was interested to see how it was being applied. I love the notion that there are good, simpler, explanations for things if we just look at problems in new ways.

Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] auroraborealis linked to this, but I didn't get to read it until this AM: Getting Mentally Unstuck. Much of the post is about how to stop whining AT YOURSELF, but it's also sprinkled with great ideas for mental exercises to kick-start your productivity, something I desperately need.
