Feminist theory from a Zen porn star
Apr. 23rd, 2008 02:30 pmInterview format doesn't lend itself to the kind of deep exposition that you get in a good book or essay, so the column passes over a number of things I found fascinating. Hartley regards herself not only as bisexual but as "inter-gendered." And she has something of an interestingly historical perspective on the evolution of anti-porn in feminism; I'm old enough to remember the shifts she describes. I'd love to see some of these one-off lines expanded.
I remember Hartley from my own porn-watching days, but had no idea of the background she came from or her views on these things. She's very male-sympathetic and sounds remarkably honest, at least as much as I can read from this text.

Date: 2008-04-24 12:55 am (UTC)I met her once and I paid 15 bucks to have a picture taken with her on my lap. I found her to be very warm and open even though I only spent 3 minutes with her. She seemed very happy in her work.
And she put both my hands right on her ass.
