I freaked a little, but the freaking-out part of my brain was immediately overruled by the "If it stings you that is going to SUCK" part of my brain. So I kept the freak a minimum.
Maybe one day, after many years of dealing with bees, I'll get over the "a bee is on my body...FREAK OUT!!" thing.
Maybe. One day.
Until then, wow, is it a hard thing to not freak out, kudos to you for saving both yourself from a nasty sting and a little lady from an untimely death.
One of my most intense memories from my teen years was one day during lunch break at school (we had 2 hrs for lunch, it being Europe and all). I went to the store to purchase smoked bacon (?? I don't know why) and ate it down by the waterfront. Suddenly I felt something tickling my thumb, and looked down to see a wasp crawling around on my finger. Ick! But, being quite allergic to these things, I didn't budge, and whaddya know, the damned bug *bit* my finger! Not bite-as-in-sting, but bite-as-in-take-hella-chomp-(or-try-to). So. Wild! Then it flew off...
