PHD Comics reviews the last 10 presidential years in budget trend graphs. If you care about any of this stuff please remember to register to vote. I believe October 6th is the last day for Americans at home.

Does anyone know if modern browsers (say, IE 6/7, FFx 2/3) support sftp:// urls natively? My google fu isn't turning up definitive answers. More geekishly, does anyone know if there's any significant difference in the relative security of sftp versus https?

OKC's "stalkers" feature recently informed me that one of my cow orkers found my profile there. And not the one who helped run Pi Con, either. That should be interesting.

WTF is with the allergies already? I've been keeping myself dosed on Claritin and still getting twice-daily attacks. Last night I woke up something like five times due to an ongoing allergy attack. I'm surprised I'm even vaguely functional today. A few more days of this and I'll be fully capable of blowing my nose in my sleep.

Pollen counts have been low to moderate lately for ragweed (grasses and trees are Not In Season).

But mold activity has been moderate-to-high, thanks to all the wonderful rain we've had. I'm not allergic to mold, but if you are, it may be worth inspecting or airing out your closets or bathrooms.

The only one I know of is Konqueror, but you'll have to be running KDE in order to use it. Chrome doesn't even support it, even though it's effectively a fork of Konqueror.

I've been know to solve support calls in my sleep. I get really confused when somebody thanks me for solving some problem in the middle of the night and I don't even remember the call.

Relatively speaking both SFTP and HTTPS are as secure as the specific implementation. This said, the guts of the security for both Apache and Firefox are pretty much the same code, and that's OpenSSL.

You can map the helper application for most modern browsers and if you're using firefox you might try stuffing 'firefox helper application sftp' or 'firefox mime sftp' at Google.
