Meme, with a family twist

I've been resisting this meme for a while:

Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage/relationship (or if you think you might be someday), and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.

Because, really, I can't think of a single person on my f-list who thinks discrimination is a good idea at all. And I know at least a couple of my readers are themselves in same-sex marriages, or equivalently committed relationships. And I've donated to "No on 8" and urged those of you who have extra cash for such donations to do the same. Or volunteer, if you happen to live in CA.

According to my bro the other two bloggers there are pretty seriously right-wing. He was surprised to be invited to coauthor with them, since they spent so much time arguing in other fora.

um, yikes. I think what's worse is that the guy talked about the horrors of Nazi Germany being "not only bombs in Germany, but on the Church."

Holocaust: I think you missed the point.

Then again, it's also dumb because the Holocaust persecuted gays too, which is what they're doing. Um, think much?

I want the tag line from the YouTube video on a t-shirt. It's not rhetorically strong, but it pretty much sums up the argument.

Luckily, we don't have to win this one, just fail to lose it, and with the measure polling at about 44% in favor the number of people voting no is less relevant. (Sure, I'd like everyone to be against this ass-hatted measure, but I'll be happy with <50% for it, this election.) Me, I already voted no. If I can't vote often, at least I can vote early.
