I've been reading various peoples' posting of Thanksgiving cooking extravaganzas with some envy. Which is funny because we had a great dinner, cooked by someone else, and I normally don't do much cooking for Turkey Day anyway. Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] dpolicar and family for hosting us.

Also, we managed to forget to do Alice's Restaurant this year, which is even more a shame because I think the kids are finally old enough to listen to it.

We spent much of the weekend on household chores, computer wrangling, and the like. We now have two new computers in place and mostly set up. We need a new monitor to hook up for her new laptop and a wireless USB dongle for the extra machine. Pygment and I did major surgery on our desks and minor surgery on the room layout. I think the current plan is to turn my old PC into the kids' gaming machine and see if we can find someone to make Pygment's old PC into a MythTV. I've wanted one of those for a while.

Saturday was day of plan wreckage. Brunch guest didn't happen, and L was badly enough behaved that he didn't get to go to the b-day party plan. I stayed home with him while Pygment went to the party and rollerskated. And wrecked up her leg.

I sent her off to the ER and went to a housewarming/holiday/eatalot thing with the kids. Where I was a bundle of stress at most everyone, and I'm sorry if I was bad company. Several people helped out with hugs and good words of support - thank you all. Having the kids behaving badly didn't improve things, but fortunately they settled down. Of course then it was bedtime and I had to leave the nice snuggling to get them home and asleep.

Sunday was mostly me doing household chores - laundry, dishes, cleaning. At least gaming happened, with only moderate delays.

This week is already a bundle of stresses with a dental appointment this afternoon and the new work CEO showing up tomorrow for a couple days so everyone at work is extra-tense.

It was good to see you Saturday regardless. I hope that you are doing better soon.
