What counts for 'fame' in the blogosphere

Robert X Cringely quotes me from a bit I wrote for Copyfight on RIAA v. Joel Tenenbaum.

The fact that you don't read Copyfight (it has an LJ feed, hint hint) or know who Cringely or Tenebaum are is OK. This is what counts for fame in some circles.

(OK, that and being taken to task by random people for an error in a blog post I wrote that somehow found its way to the front page of Technorati.)

Come now, don't be modest. This is your shot at immortality here! Generations to come will know the term "Wexelblat Disaster" rather intimately. I'm sure it will quickly be shorted to just "Wex", as in

"Did hear what happened to Ralph? He drowned last week when his front door failed in the flood."

"Ah, geez, that's a really stupid way to go. A total Wex."
