Dave Arneson died. So did Marilyn Chambers. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere, but I'm a little too fried to find it just now.

Neither was that old, either, which just makes it all the more uncomfortable.

So did Mike "The Bird" Fydrich, who (for too brief a time) was one of the most exciting pitchers in baseball. He just died at the age of 56 while fixing his truck. No, it wasn't an accidental death (like the truck falling on him); he just died while doing that.

People that close to my age aren't supposed to die like that.

Just for the record: I totally bollixed his name. Mark Fidrych. And he was 54.

My main points still stand.

Chambers was from Providence? I never knew!

I'm wondering if gaming and porn are professions equally dangerous to long-term health. Didn't Gary Gygax pass last year?

Mark Fidrych came out of the blue though. Had he been a former NFL player, I would have understood better.
