On Fridays I like to watch the new trailers. Not that I get out to SEE any movies you understand, but I like to pretend. This week's crop has a couple of disturbing entries.

http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/bruno/ - this really shouldn't be funny. I mean, how many jokes about gay fashion designers are there that haven't already been made? But I'm finding myself laughing at this when I think I really shouldn't. Uh-oh.

http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/theartofbeingstraight/ - the title alone ("The Art of Being Straight") should've warned me. And the preview seriously makes me wonder if this is yet another gay film that denies bisexual people even exist. Because, really, we ALL know there are only two kinds of people - gay and straight, right? Uh-oh.

Because I'll be hiding from embarrassment

Oh. Borat-like. I'll definitely have to skip that. If I go to the movies, I want to see a movie, not a close up of my hands or maybe the seat in front of me or given the pain factor of this one, the floor of the theater. Inevitably I find the spilled soda and dropped gummi bears. I'm also usually told my my companion to stop flailing and sputtering.

Bruno is by far Sacha's best character. I have a feeling the movie won't be as funny as the shorts he did on the Ali G show. I always thought Borat was his most uninteresting character.

Hi,
I do not exist. I am not writing this, really, it is just the ether. The gay or straight ether.

The first one - no.

The second one - gah. Yeah. Bisexuals don't exist. Let alone storgic sapiosexuals. That's it - that's why I never seem to get much done - I don't exist.

Re: Bruno; see old episodes of The Ali G Show.

Re: bisexuals: scientific research confirms bisexuals as a distinct category and according to this article (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/25/magazine/25desire-t.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=What%20Women%20Want&st=cse) bisexual women have higher sex drives than women who are only attracted to one gender (exclusively heterosexual or lesbian), but bisexual men have lower sex drives than men who are only attracted to one gender (exclusively straight or gay).
