This seems like a good meme and my friends often have good advice - which I sometimes cheerfully or cluelessly ignore. You are invited to give me advice or suggest resolutions for this year (I haven't made any yet). I make no promises other than I'll read carefully what's written.
Anonymity is available, comments are not screened. If you'd like a piece of advice in return I'll try to provide that. In fact, I may do it anyway.

Date: 2006-01-02 09:36 pm (UTC)I usually manage this. However, it's usually out of sight, with the kids or some humor bit someone's sent me. My sense of humor is also pretty warped.
Do something small but special for youself once a week.
I try to do something for myself every day.
Read at least one good book a month.
If I knew which would be good in advance... seriously, though I try to read a good mix. You've seen my TBR library. Doing audiobooks on the commute is good.

Immediately after I become independently wealthy and can isolate myself from my family? I mean, seriously, you know a lot of my friends. I actually have a lot of really good friends. My LJ flist is 126 people. My party invite list is 282 people and neither of those is really as long as I'd make it if I had the opportunity. Given that I have to work for a living and can't choose different blood relatives what could I do differently?

You've never heard my "Didn't cause, can't cure" mantra? I gave up trying to fix everything about 10 years ago.
Most importantly remember that you have people who love you.
A good thing to remember.
