For audiobook lovers
Jan. 4th, 2006 10:56 amI'd like to point you in the direction of Tantor Audio Books. They make audio and MP3 books, unabridged - the only kind I'll get. I have been listening to their recording of Richard K. Morgan's Altered Carbon an excellent book I'll review as soon as I finish it. And therein is the tale...
The book is 14 CDs long. Last night I discovered that somehow disk 14 didn't get imprinted - it shows up as a blank CD on my PC and won't play in any player - despite having the appropriate label on it. Tantor had their URL on it, so I wrote to them (despite having bought the book through Amazon) and asked whether I needed to return to them or to Amazon to get a replacement. This AM they wrote back asking for my address and informed me they'll ship out a new disk 14 first class today.
I've already purchased another of their books (Morgan's second novel) and encourage those of you who like audiobooks to consider doing business with a good outfit.
