How wordy geeky are you?

So by now you've all likely seen http://www.freerice.com/index.php where you get to guess word definitions and by correct guesses you donate rice to UN Food programs.

Has anyone else noticed that there's a little rating "VOCAB LEVEL" label in the lower right? I think it's tracking the difficulty of words it gives you to define but darned if I can tell what it correlates to. I find some lower-level words hard and some higher-level ones easy. So what's your "vocab level"?

Mine varies around 42-45, mostly 43-44

So, apparently there were some people not yet hooked on FreeRice prior to my earlier posting. Apparently one of them was mizarchivist...

me: I'm amused. I've gotten a number of what i'd consider non-English words
mizarchivist: ohh- "insouciant"
me: I can see I've successfully destroyed another person's workday
mizarchivist: You have
mizarchivist: funambulism is tightrope walking, fyi
mizarchivist: Damn you
mizarchivist: "oh, I'll just go to 1000"
mizarchivist: Oh, I'll just get my vocab level back to 41
mizarchivist: Sheesh
mizarchivist: abuscade!! Oh I love that word. Damn you
me: me? *blink* (wait, can I look innocent when I'm falling off my chair laughing?)
mizarchivist: sorry- that's a binary situation
