Petition asking for change in blood donation rules

Evan Low, mayor of Campbell CA, has started a change.org petition asking the FDA to replace its arbitrary (and discriminatory) lifetime bans with deferral periods based on behaviors and scientific understanding.

As someone who falls within the ban restrictions I feel pretty strongly that we should be using more evidence-based rules for safety. If you agree, please read the petition and see if you want to sign on.

When financial blogging gets funny (and erudite)

Felix Salmon has a hilarious (if long) piece up excoriating the Second Circuit for its abominable performance in Elliott vs Argentina. He calls them "poltroons", a word I haven't heard used in a blog approximately ever, and calls Argentina "contumacious" - both accurate descriptives.
