I work in the field of usability and user experience. So why, dear gods, why would someone from a Big Company post to the profession jobs list two messages looking for usability people with the Subject lines of "Posting #1" and "Posting #2"?

Except possibly to demonstrate just exactly how much Big Company needs usability people.

The same reason I can call our UNIX helpdesk (at the largest defense contractor in the US) and get a recording saying, "I'm sorry you're having a problem. Goodbye!" followed directly by a dial tone.

OK, that's funny. It's also (stereo)typical of the "classical" Unix attitude (if you have to ask, you're not clued enough to be using Unix).
