Marking a cooking moment

This weekend was characterized by exhausting amounts of really bad kid behavior. I don't know what's gotten into the two of them but I wish it would get out. Like, now.

Plus moments included the kids doing a lemonade stand and charming the dollars out of everyone in sight. Apparently someone threw a $20 at them, for some reason. I'm sort of disturbed by this, as I don't want them to think they can get money by being cute at strangers. That's got all kinds of bad associations.

Anyway, what I really came to note was that Sunday night - with a little help and the use of a cookbook he inherited from his grandmother - K cooked a couple chickens to feed the family and the visiting gamers. He did pretty good for 9 years old.

Everyone in my house has been stir-crazy, including the adults. I blame it on the weather!

It's great that K is cooking, though. Chicken is pretty advanced for a 9-year-old! I hear it was good, too! :-)
