I don't think I'll have time to post much music for a while, so some extra bonus tracks today.

First up, Amanda Blank (http://www.myspace.com/amandablank). RCRD_LBL has been pushing her stuff for a while because her debut small-label release just came out a couple weeks ago, but I've been sort of "meh" on it. I'll grant that she does a good job of the white-girl-rap thing but this remix of the Romeo Void track was the first thing I thought worth pointing to.

Tommie Sunshine, on the other hand, grabbed me immediately with this track. (http://www.myspace.com/tommiesunshine). As with most pages on RCRD you can just click the 'stream' link and get several of his tracks in a row. The styles varies a lot, based on whose stuff he's remixing. The "I Don't Care" track that starts this set (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbxkW6xsLuo) is a pretty high-energy rock/punk song that Sunshine transforms into a pretty hardcore dance-house mix.

If you like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs you may favor the next track up. He's working off their popular "Heads Will Roll" single (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt0IlrQYOxM). That one has been remixed a bunch, and I think it works very well here, where he seems mostly to be running the keyboard tracks through some effects boxes and working in a harder dance beat.

Finally, four excellent (if slightly brain-bending) mixes off Mashuptown. You'll need to scroll down a bit on their page to find the download links for these:

Um, Korn + Abba. I'm amused and aghast at the same time.

Judas Priest really needs to be mashed up more. For whatever reason the DJs who do 80s-metal mash-ups tend to ignore Priest and that's a shame.

Conversely, Annie Lenox's material gets used a lot in the mash-ups I listen to, not least of them DJ Earworm's massive Backwards-Forwards project (http://djearworm.com/). This particular mix has a very nice heavy horn section that Mashuptown didn't like, but I do. I agree that the mix sounds much more like a cover than a mash-up but that's OK too.

Also in the much-used category is "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life." I can't say I'm sorry about that - I really like the tune, and this mix pulls in a couple of amusing little bits I'll let you find for yourself.
