FiveThirtyEight published a very nice (and not at all angry or snarky) piece on the issue of healthcare reform and MA's special elections vote: http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2010/01/massachusetts-liked-universal-health.html

It's an odd bit of apparent dissonance in seeing that a majority of Scott Brown voters like MA's health plan but still oppose the US national version, which has some substantial similarities. The blog entry explores some reasons for this.

And another conclusion we may derive is that "the voters" may be significantly more comfortable with "universal health care" on the state level than on the national level.
