Asking for opinions (another picture post)

In the photo below there are supposed to be three elements set in thematic relation to each other. I've done a fair bit of jiggering to pull out the elements I want and suppress those I don't want, and I'm still not sure it works. Your thoughts are requested:

The depth effect is mostly luck, but I'm glad it worked.

I'll post the album in a bit - the idea here was to see if I could set the background off against other things.

I think the silohette of the man in the foreground could be a little less pronounced.

But I really do love the position of him just below the cloud just below the fireworks. It's very nice frame job.

The thing you're seeing is the chair back. I played around with it a bit to see if I could make that clearer. I could probably chop it entirely out of the picture I suppose.
