drwex | All weekends should end on Monday nights

So as noted in the previous update we swapped our Saturday babysitting token for a Monday token and went out to see Stardust. Lots of folk have reviewed it and I don't have a lot original to add, but yes, that was a very good movie.

I felt that the weakest part of the film was Charlie Cox's Tristan. It's not entirely his fault, he's relatively inexperienced as an actor and the script doesn't always put Tristan in the best position, but the combination of his character and the on-screen pairings didn't work in his favor. Claire Danes completely overwhelms him. With Robert DeNiro and Michelle Pfeiffer turning in amazing performances it felt like any time Tristan wasn't in center focus and speaking I had to work to remember he was there.

There were probably deviations from the book I'll realize once I go back and re-read it, but none of them stood out enough during viewing to mar my enjoyment.

Then the wifey and I came home and gamed, because we really are that kind of nerd couple.
