I'm winding down from a long period of scheduled activities and I feel I'm coping much better than I'd expected. No desire to cancel things and run away. Also? Three Saturdays in a row getting out with the wifey? Awesome. Bless you, all our kid-sitters.

Friday we went out with family for dinner. Bugaboo Creek is nice and the kids enjoy it but I don't find a whole lot I want on their menu. It's very slab-o-beef heavy. The company was pleasant and the kids behaved moderately well, but I'm not in a hurry to go back there. On the other hand, I would really like to see if I can lay hands on some actual moose meat, for burgers primarily. Anyone have a local source?

Normally we do a movie on Fridays, but we decided to... um, go to bed early. I fell asleep a bit past 10 which was both needed and led to whacked-out sleep all weekend. I was up at 5A on Saturday :( Napping Saturday and Sunday didn't seem to make up for a lack of solid consecutive hours.

Saturday night we were both feeling somewhat 'off' and not like public interactions so we went out to a movie instead of a party. We saw 21, the MIT poker team movie. I like Kevin Spacey but overall I thought the movie was mediocre. It seemed to suffer from the Hollywood need to have Grand Dramatic Conflict™ and had logical holes large enough to drive several stretch limos through. I'll probably get the book, which I've heard is much better than the movie.

Still, it was nice to have out time without kids and we took advantage of our babysitters' generosity to extend the evening through a late night feed and conversation at the Cheesecake Factory.

Sunday was game, which went fairly well if i do say so myself. The party went out and easily rolled over one encounter. Then they ran into something Big And Nasty. It's not clear they know how to beat it nor how to extricate themselves without casualties. Heroic deaths may ensue.
